An upmarket neighbourhood in the city of Lagos, Ikoyi is situated on the eastern side of Lagos Island near the mouth of the Lagos Lagoon. Once the home of British government officials during the colonial era which ended some 50 years ago, Ikoyi is now where diplomats, Nigerian government officials and business tycoons as well as many of the foreigners working in the country's oil and gas industry reside.
