In 1960, the British reluctantly granted independence to a political entity it had put together with more than 250 ethnic nationalities, which it had either conquered or tricked into ceding their territories in the name of protection through misleading treaties created by the same Britain.
The putting together of these ethnic nationalities is a poor political experiment with lots of socio-economic and political problems which began to manifest years after. This experimentation if tried in any one European Nation will have resulted in the collapse of that Nation. It is therefore clear that the colonial power was interested commerce.
